Activist remains behind bars after release in court

Aleh Kerol was detained in the evening of May 13.

The Alternativa activist hoisted a poster in support of Zmitser Dashkevich detained before the hockey championship near the National Library. He was accused of petty hooliganism and disobedience to the police although it was not true.

Aleh Kerol stood trial in Minsk's Pershamaiski District Court on May 14. He was released as the case needed to be reconsidered. However, he was not allowed to leave the police station when he came the to fetch his belongings. His detention report will be reworked and he will stand another trial on May 15, Radio Liberty reports.
