President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in an interview to Chinese media on January 18 told about the possibility of political reforms in the country after parliamentary elections.

According to him, the Belarusian leadership is studying "certain tendencies in the world" in order to adapt to them and to "modernize our political system".

"We will hold parliamentary elections. And I think, we should pay serious attention to political reform, or the reform of our country's political system", Belta quoted Lukashenko. "We'll do it, although we have no disaster in this respect".

According to Lukashenko, the main thing is to maintain stability and "enable a person to live a normal life and to express his opinion" and also "to preserve his fundamental rights he claims to, and is entitled to have them".

The president noted, that Belarus is exchanging experiences with China on many international issues, and "if the People's Republic of China give us a tip about something, we'll be very grateful".

In the near future Lukashenko is planning to meet with Chinese leaders and to consult "on many international issues".
