Belarus Celebrates Freedom Day

The independence of the BPR was declared in the Third Constituent Charter of the BPR passed on that day. The independence of Belarus in the XX century started on that day.

The Freedom Day used to be secretly celebrated in the BSSR and openly - in Western Belarus and abroad. The tradition of public celebration was restored in Belarus during the revival period at the end of 1980s and at the beginning of the 1990s.

The street action will begin in Minsk at 6 p.m. today. Participants will gather near the Academy of Sciences.
