Integration documents will determine the interaction between Belarus and Russia until 2027, Belarus' Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said in an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian head of government spoke in detail about his working meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on the sidelines of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council summit in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.
“We discussed the finalization of the package of documents on deepening economic integration. We are very close to completing this work. I think that citizens of both Belarus and Russia will soon learn in full what we have managed to accomplish and what we have agreed upon over the past year and a half. Important strategic documents have been prepared that will let us build relationships within at least the next few years - until 2024-2025, and for some programs even through 2027,” said Roman Golovchenko.
According to him, at the working meeting the heads of government also discussed issues related to trade and economic cooperation, the operation of economic sectors, enterprises, and also sanctions. “We are confident that Russia, as our closest ally and partner, will certainly not stand aside,” the prime minister stressed.
“As always, the meeting was held in a friendly, constructive, and effective way. My Russian colleague and I have agreed on all the issues that we have set,” Roman Golovchenko said.
He was also asked about the date for the next meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State. “We have suggestions, but the final date will be determined by the Standing Committee of the Union State, as the procedure requires. I expect that within a month we will decide on the date of the meeting,” said Roman Golovchenko.
