Numbeo is the world’s largest database of user-contributed data about cities and countries worldwide. It provides information on world living conditions including cost of living, housing indicators, health care, traffic, crime and pollution by taking into consideration the Consumer Price Index, Rent Index and Groceries Index.
The website explains that “the crime index is an estimation of the overall level of crime in a given city or a country”. Its global crime report takes into account different laws applicable to each particular country, as some acts may constitute crimes in one country but not in others.
