The EU agreement on visa facilitation with Belarus (as well as the agreement on readmission) may be signed by the end of 2019, head of the EU Delegation to Belarus, Dirk Schuebel, said on November 26 in Vitsebsk, BelTA reports.
The EU Council recently approved the visa agreement. According to Mr. Schuebel, intensive work on the readmission agreement is currently underway.
Belarus completed the domestic procedures for agreements with the EU in September, and Alyaksandr Lukashenka decided to sign them. The Schengen visa for Belarusian citizens is expected to cost €35 instead of the current €60.
Dirk Schuebel said that a new team will start working at the EU office in Belarus on December 1. The budget for the implementation of projects in our country next year amounts to €31 million.
