Russia to give Belarus $1 bln loan on ‘good terms’
Belarus and Russia have agreed on a new loan ofabout $1 billion, Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko said in an interview to the ONT Channel on 9 April.

“There was an order to allocate an additional loan of one billion dollars on favourable conditions,” the official said commenting on the results of the talks between the Belarusian and Russian presidents in Saint Petersburg on 3 April.

According to him, Belarus will also get third and fourth tranches of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development loan, $300 million each.

The issue was raised at St. Petersburg’s meeting as well.

Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin discussed Belarus’ interaction with the Eurasian Stabilization and Development Fund, which was in no hurry to give Belarus the third tranche of the credit that the country had expected to get in autumn 2016.

Now Minsk has received Moscow’s support in this matter.

Earlier Belarusian officials also stated that Russia had agreed to refinance Belarusian debt of $700-800 million.
