Protests in Belarus go on - more people detained

On Sunday 26 March several dozen people gathered on Oktyabrskaya Square to express solidarity with the detained during yesterday’s Freedom Day rally.
The protesters demanded to release the Freedom Day detainees. At the beginning of the action police officers asked them to go away. The participants disobeyed the order and special forces started arresting people.
Also detentions took place in different parts of Minsk and other Belarusian cities, witnesses said.

Overall more than 150 people were detained today across Belarus, according to the information of the Human Rights Center Viasna. Yesterday over 700 people – protesters, journalists, random passers-by – were arrested within hours.
