According to preliminary data, during the tacit protest actions in Belarus on July 6 about 400 people were detained. Аmong them 24 people were journalists.
As per the Human Rights Center Viasna about 190 protesters were arrested in Minsk. To Patizansky RUVD (District Department of the Interior Affairs) they took about 20 people, to Pervomaisky – 20, to Frunzensky – 25, to Zavodkoi – 30, to Leninsky – 31 people, to Sovietsky – 15, Oktiabrsky – 20, to Moskovsky RUVD about 35 people were delivered.
Late in the evening juveniles and elderly women were set free, several people were driven away by the ‘ambulance’. Part of the detainees was taken from RUVD to Isolation Center of Offenders on Okrestina Street in Minsk.
It is also known about 220 detainees in the regions.
As Belarusian Association of Journalists reported to news portal www.UDF.BY, on July 6 in Minsk and other Belarusian cities, 24 representatives of mass media were detained. Undercover men in plainclothes purposefully obstructed the work of journalists. Polina Zhuravleva the Journalist of Vecherny Grodno newspaper was hospitalized after detained actions, as it said in the publication.
In all for the time of ‘tacit revolutions’ in Belarus on 15, 22 and 29 of June and on 6 of July it were arrested about 1710 people. According to human rights advocates 960 among them arrested in Minsk.
Many detainees were beaten. Most of them have been punished by confined arrests and fines. Part of people was released after getting warnings and passing a fingerprint.
