Alyaksandr Lukashenka met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul. The intensification of Belarus-Turkey relations was discussed by the presidents, official sources report.
Lukashenka and Erdoğan discussed the prospects of increasing Turkish investments in Belarus, cooperation in the sphere of tourism and an increase in the number of regular flights between the two states, BELTA reports. The Turkish leader is ready to pay a visit to Belarus. An interstate Belarus-Turkey commission will gather in May.
The Belarusian President left for Istanbul on the morning of April 13, Euroradio reported. He is expected to make a speech at the today’s summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. Lukashenka is attending the forum at the invitation of Erdoğan.
