The political prisoner has an acute dental disease.
Mikalai Autukhovich needs a dental implant surgery that cannot be performed in prison, Radio Svaboda reports.
Human rights activist Aleh Vouchak turns attention to the fact that the political prisoner's term expires in a few months and urged the authorities to grant him parole in accordance with the law.
"The prison doesn't provide officers to convoy him outside prison for such operations, but the law says he can receive all medical care he needs. How to solve the problem? We urge to take into account the fact that his term expires in less than 6 months. The offence he was charged with – possession of five gun cartridges – is not dangerous for society. The authorities could release the person with serious health problems who was thrown into prison for five cartridges," he says.
Mikalai Autukhovich called on human rights activists to keep an eye on Mikalai Alikhver, a former officer of the Hrodna financial police who now lives in the US. According to the political prisoner, the former investigator is involved in fabricating the case against him that resulted in his first arrest and pressure on the businessman who fought against corruption in Vaukavysk.
Mikalai Autukhovich serves 5 years in prison in Hrodna.
