“Tell the Truth!“ movement unveils database of Yarmoshyna’s “soldiers“

The "Tell the Truth!" movement created a database called "Soldiers of Lidziya Yarmoshyna," which contains information about all members of elections commissions of all levels that participated in the last five election campaigns, from a presidential election in 2006 to the current parliamentary elections, Alyaksandr Fyaduta, deputy chairman of the movement, told reporters in Minsk on Tuesday.

Mr. Fyaduta said that the database exposed those whose personal activity led to the international community recognizing neither of the elections as meeting the OSCE’s standards for democracy and democracy.

According to Mr. Fyaduta, the movement thought about a title for the database for a long time and ultimately decided to title it "Soldiers of Lidziya Yarmoshyna" because the head of the central election commission once called election officers "soldiers of the Motherland." "However, she is not a soldier but the general who send troops to the front line," Mr. Fyaduta said.
According to him, the database contains information about a total of 126,333 people who were members of election commissions. "This is absolutely open information. It was published in newspapers," he said.

The movement established that many people had participated up to five times in the conduct of elections as members of precinct election commissions, Mr. Fyaduta noted.
In particular, according to him, 11.6 percent of precinct election commissions’ members were involved in three election campaigns, 4.7 percent in four campaigns and 1.01 percent in all the five.

Many members of precinct commissions were promoted to member of a district commission, being simultaneously advanced to higher positions at their places of employment.
According to him, one of the common features of Ms. Yarmoshyna’s "soldiers," is that most of them were nominated to election commissions by Belaya Rus, the Belarusian National Youth Union, trade unions or educational institutions.
Some of them were nominated by different organizations during different election campaigns. For instance, Dzmitry Shchurevich was at different times nominated by a district executive committee, the Belarusian National Youth Union and Belaya Rus.
