United Civil Party registered in district election commissions six initiative groups to nominate candidates running for deputy.

This was reported by BelaPAN with reference to the party's spokesman Anna Krasulina.

She said the party's activists applied for registration of seven initiative groups. One group wasn't registered in Bereza, as the group and its leader went to apply for registration without the candidate himself.

However, she said, registration or non-registration of initiative groups is "totally unprincipled" for the party. "All our speakers are nominated by the Congress and withdrawn by the Congress. Therefore, the initiative groups are for strongly willing ones. We'll just see how our pickets "For Fair Elections without Lukashenko" will be held. That is, we don't have the special task to register initiative groups", Krasulina said.

Extra Congress of the United Civil Party, which will nominate speakers of the campaign "For Fair Elections without Lukashenka" as candidates for deputy will be held on July 28.

22 delegates are planned to be nominated at the Congress. On the agenda, as reported by the party's press service, is one question: giving the speakers a formal status of candidates.
