Military personnel of Belarus' Armed Forces are conducting a training session together with fighters of the private military company (PMC) Wagner in the military training area Brestsky, BelTA has learned.
For a week units of Belarusian special operations forces will practice carrying out combat training missions together with PMC Wagner representatives.
Representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry noted that taking into account the current geopolitical situation PMC Wagner's real combat experience represents an opportunity for continuing the Belarusian army's policy in favor of modernization, re-equipment, and prompt adoption of the experience of modern military conflicts into the training program.
Upon arrival PMC Wagner representatives found accommodations in the military training area and briefed Belarusian military personnel on what will happen in the course of the forthcoming training session. After that the military personnel were divided into groups and began their studies.
Servicemen of the special operations forces of Belarus are convinced that the real combat experience of PMC Wagner fighters is invaluable. New conditions were introduced in the course of the joint training session taking into account PMC Wagner's participation in the special operation in Ukraine.
While talking to reporters, a serviceman of Belarus' special operations forces mentioned that the joint training session covers many aspects: tactics, medicine, and weapon training. “Representatives of the private military company tell us about new tricks every day. We play out various situations. For instance: a moving column under fire or a drone attack,” he said.
For instance, if a column on the march gets fired at, the troops exit the vehicles and set up perimeter defense. The soldiers move in twos in short bursts 15-20 meters from each other. The military personnel have to stay within visual range and maintain communications and cohesion of the actions of the combat pairs.
Unexpected new conditions represent an important part of the training process. Soldiers can face new conditions literally in the course of the training session. An explosion can be simulated at the height of a training session and the soldiers have to respond and adjust their actions to the changes.
The training process is quite intensive. The personnel get briefed in the morning, get into vehicles, and move to the training site. “Instructors accompany us all the time and give extremely useful advice,” another Belarusian serviceman remarked. “They advise us how to set up perimeter defense, cover each other, defend against drones, and how to act when encountering sabotage and reconnaissance forces.”
With their actions PMC Wagner fighters demonstrate their interest in the Belarusian army being strong and modern and in the Belarusian people living in a peaceful and safe country.
The Defense Ministry and PMC Wagner representatives have worked out a precise algorithm and a procedure for Wagner fighters to pass on their combat experience. It involves an entire complex of joint combat training events.
