Nobel Literature Prize laureate Svetlana Alexievich gave a press conference before the award ceremony in Stockholm. The Belarusian writer answered journalists’ questions.
Radio Liberty asked what could be done for Belarus. Alexievich replied: “You need to do your job quietly without giving way to despair. Dictatorship is a primitive thing and it is usually created by unwise people.”
The Nobel Prize laureate signed several appeals in support of different people including Nadezhda Savchenko the other day. She feels sad because good people cannot do much sometimes.
