AAT Naftan (refining and petrochemical company) was the most profitable stock company in Belarus in the first three quarters of 2013, with its net profit in the period amounting to 1,360 billion rubels (some $120 million), reported the Ministry of Finance.
According to the ministry, Naftan was followed by Mazyr Oil Refinery with a net profit of 1,350 billion rubels, tire maker Belshyna with 835.6 billion rubels, potash giant Belaruskali with 806.8 billion rubels and oil pipeline company AAT Homyeltransnafta Druzhba with a net profit of 653 billion rubels.
The 10 most profitable companies in Belarus in the first nine months of 2013 also included the Development Bank of Belarus with a net profit of 619.8 billion rubels, Nyoman Tobacco Factory (Hrodna-based cigarette maker) with 427 billion rubels, BelAZ (Zhodzina-based haul truck manufacturer) with 331.6 billion rubels, chemical company Hrodna Azot with 276 billion rubels, and AAT Pelenh (defense industry company) with 268 billion rubels.
Other profitable companies included Palihrafkambinat Imeni Yakuba Kolasa (Minsk-based printing company), Slutsk Cheese Plant, MAZ (Minsk-based manufacturer of trucks and buses), AAT PramAhraLeasing (heavy-equipment leasing company), Minsk Wheeled Tractor Plant, Homyel Chemical Plant, elevator manufacturer AAT Mahilyowliftmash, Lida Milk Cannery, MAPID (Minsk-based construction company), and AAT Ahrakambinat Dzyarzhynski, a large diversified farming company in the Minsk region.
