Belarus is interested in importing crude oil and petroleum products from Kazakhstan, Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy said at a meeting of the Kazakh-Belarusian Committee for Trade and Economic Cooperation in Astana on November 8.

He said that the two countries would sign an agreement for cooperation in the sphere of deliveries of oil and petroleum products, according to Kazakhstan's news agency Kazinform.
Mr. Rusy noted that Belarus was also interested in Kazakh investments. "We expect the arrival of Kazakh capital in Belarus and its participation in mutually beneficial projects," he was quoted as saying.

The deputy prime minister expressed hope that the two countries would manage to raise their two-way trade to $1 billion this year. From January through September, trade between Belarus and Kazakhstan increased by 17 percent year-on-year to $727 million.
