Belarus posts highest industrial growth in Eurasian Economic Union in January-May
Belarus became the leader among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in terms of industrial production growth in January-May of this year, BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

In January-May 2023, industrial production in the EAEU rose by 1.9% year-on-year. "All member states posted the growth in industrial production: Belarus - 4.1%, Armenia - 3%, Kazakhstan - 2.4%, Russia - 1.8% and Kyrgyzstan - 1.2%," the EEC said.

In terms of industries, the manufacturing sector became the growth driver in the EAEU, with a 4.8% increase in January-May. The mining industry and quarrying declined by 0.7%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 0.3%, water supply, sewerage system, control over collection and distribution of waste - by 6.8%.
