Nearly 30,000 online shops have been registered in Belarus. Belarusian Deputy Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Minister Nina Yemelyanova mentioned it during the TIBO Internet Award ceremony, BelTA has learned.

In her words, about 30,000 online shops have been registered in Belarus while the share of online sales is constantly on the rise. “This year we've come up with an idea to develop a separate legal framework dedicated to online trade since online trade develops faster than we can regulate it. Citizens and representatives of online resources submit a lot of queries. This year we will try to regulate this area of business as much as possible,” Nina Yemelyanova noted.

As many as 206 applications have been submitted for the TIBO Internet Award. This year's contest is subdivided into ten main nominations: “Government agencies and authorities”, “Education and science”, “Information resource”, “Corporate Internet resources”, “Online trade”, “Tourism and recreation”, “Sport”, “Health and medicine”, “For children and youth”, and “Corporate accounts in social networks”.
