Belarus attends Forum on Eco-Farming in South Korea

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to South Korea Andrei Chernetsky attended the 2nd International Forum on Eco-Farming (IFEF) in Gimhae-si on 20 October, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Seoul.

During the forum, the diplomat spoke about initiatives to develop sustainable agriculture and, in particular, organic farming in Belarus. Agriculture is not only an important sector of the Belarusian economy but also makes a significant contribution to the food security of the country and its export potential. Belarusian manufacturers of agricultural equipment holf leading positions in the international market.

Andrei Chernetsky added that Belarus was implementing the Precision Farming project. It envisages a pilot project Digital Field to develop a digital copy of an agricultural enterprise. He also stressed that in 2018 Belarus joined the group of countries with legislative regulation in organic agriculture.

On the sidelines of the IFEF forum the Belarusian ambassador held meetings and discussions with the Mayor of Gimhae-si, MPs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea and experts in organic farming.
