Belarus' food export to China up almost 20 times since 2016
Belarus' food export to China has grown almost 20 times since 2016, Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo said in an interview with BelTA.

"The Chinese market is traditionally one of the major ones for Belarusian food producers. In 2021, we exported products worth $366.1 million (up by 47.9% over 2020). In 2016, Belarus' food export to China totaled $18.8 million. Major drivers of food export growth were beef cuts, milk powder and whey, chocolate and confectionery, whole milk and other products. Shipments of starch, fruit jam and jelly, grain processing products (confectionery and pasta, cereal flakes), and butter have increased too," Igor Brylo said.

He stressed that the foreign trade indicates that Belarusian food products are popular in the Chinese market and that the mechanisms used to sell products to China are effective. "Over the past five years, together with the Belarusian Embassy in China, we certified 119 Belarusian enterprises to export agricultural products to the Chinese market," the minister added.
