Belarus, Cuba to intensify cooperation in tourism
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Cuba Valery Baranovsky met with Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Cuba Juan Carlos Garcia Granda on 5 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties discussed ways to intensify bilateral cooperation in the tourism industry and plans to step up efforts to promote Belarus and Cuba as travel destinations,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Cuba were established in April 1992. In May 1997, the Cuban Trade Mission in Belarus was transformed into an embassy. In November 1998, the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus was opened in Cuba, which became the first diplomatic mission of Belarus in Latin America and the Caribbean.
