Belarus Native Startup In Top 500 Best America’s Employers

PandaDoc is a document automation software with built-in electronic signatures, workflow management, a document builder, and CPQ functionality. It was one of the first official additions to Google Docs and Google Sheets and it was built to solve inefficiencies with sales documents. Founded in 2013, the company now is based in San Francisco, California. It has its offices in Minsk, St. Petersburg and Florida.
Being one of the first startups on Belarusian scene, the project has secured about $30 million in total funding from investors. In 2015, it raised $5 million in Series A funding from Altos Ventures. Then in May 2017, it received $15 million in Series B funding round from Rembrandt Venture Partners, included funding from Microsoft and Altos Ventures, Silicon Valley Bank, HubSpot and EBRD. Last year, they sent extra $10 million to PandaDoc.

In 2018, PandaDoc Investor Conference was hosted at Imaguru Startup HUB where team members have previously been educated. Mikita Mikado, CEO at PandaDoc, invited American investors to Minsk to help Belarusian startups with investment and entering a foreign market.
“Doing such events we are trying to improve startup ecosystem of post-Soviet countries and particularly of Belarus. In my opinion, the Belarusian startup environment lacks capital and knowledge in marketing, sales and fundraising.”, – Mikita notes.
At the same time, he admits “when I started to create a company, Belarus was different then. Now there are dream laws for the IT business here. For example, take the HTP Decree. I know the entrepreneur who decided to consolidate his business in Belarus and he will move the company from Silicon Valley and other countries to Belarus.”
Things really changed. Informational Technologies are one of the economy drivers in Belarus now. Among the most successful startups with belarusian roots are Viber, MSQRD, Flo, PandaDoc, Kino-mo, MAPS.ME, Banuba.

Forbes recognised PandaDoc, a startup founded by Belarusians Mikita Mikado and Sergei Borisyuk, as one of America’s Best Startup Employers, shares Mikita in his Facebook account.
Partnered with market research company Statista, Forbes evaluated 2500 American businesses to identify the most attractive companies to work for. Companies must be headquartered in the US, founded between 2010 – 2017, employing at least 50 employees and exhibit a startup structure to be considered. Three evaluation criteria were used: employer reputation, employee satisfaction and company growth. PandaDoc was ranked 369thin the category of business products and software services.
