Belarus’ GDP reported up three percent in 2018
Belarus’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by an estimated 3.0 percent in 2018 to total 121.6 billion rubels, the National Statistical Committee (Belstat) reported on Thursday.

According to Belstat, the country’s GDP grew by 4.6 percent year-on-year in January, 5.6 percent in the first two months of the year, 5.1 percent in the first quarter, 4.5 percent in the first half of the year, and 3.7 percent in the first nine months of 2018.

The government had expected the country`s GDP to grow by at least 3.5 percent in 2018.

According to Belstat, GDP grew by 2.4 percent in 2017, whereas a growth of 1.7 percent had been projected.

Belarus’ GDP reportedly fell by 2.6 percent in 2016 and 3.9 percent in 2015.
