Belavia Promo Tickets Are Now Available Every Two Weeks
Belavia Belarusian Airlines has introduced experimental fares to most destination of its regular flights. Promo tickets will now be available every two weeks.

The cost of tickets at new fares has been reduced to 75%.

Over 21,000 promo seats became available for purchase on 2 November. Most of them were sold in the first days of the campaign.

The most popular destinations were Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Tbilisi, and Prague.

Due to the high interest, the airlines will add promo destinations, every two weeks. Belavia will report about promotions on their social media pages.

“First of all, our goal was to make transportations more available and to demonstrate the comfort of traveling with direct flights of the airline.

We hope that Belarusian residents will appreciate experimental fares of Belavia and will travel from Minsk more often,” Anatoly Gusarov, Director General of Belavia-Belarusian Airlines, said.

The project is also seen as a contribution of the airline to the development of inbound tourism in the country.

Why no low costs?

The arrival of international low-cost airlines is a dream of many Belarusians who have to depart from the neighboring capitals in search for better ticket fares. However, the perspective of it has many times been described as unrealistic.

Belarusian officials occasionally mention holding talks with low-cost airlines, but state that passenger volumes in Belarus are not big enough for the latter. Besides, the country is not ready to subsidize flights.

Not compiling to the local transport standards was mentioned among the reasons why low-cost airlines don’t fly to Belarus. On the good side, Belavia announced plans to launch hand baggage-only fares.

Plus, recently Wizz Air representative announced that the Hungarian airlines are considering a possibility to start flights from Budapest to Minsk.
