Belarus exempts electric vehicle owners from transport tax

The Belarus president on 10 July signed his Decree No 273, which relieves the owners of electric vehicles from the transport tax in order to stimulate the use of electric means of transport. Among other things under the edict, the charging devices not manufactured in Belarus will be VAT exempt when imported into this country.

The government is set to stimulate demand for electric cars and expand the charging and maintenance infrastructure operated by the state oil operator Belarusneft, reports the state news agency BELTA.
