The European Union has allocated more than €3.6 million for improving the quality control system for medicines in Belarus, according to the health ministry`s press office.
The funds are available within the framework of a healthcare project called Belmed.
The health ministry is spending the money on, among other things, purchases of equipment for laboratories that monitor the quality of medicines and personnel training.
The project, which is expected to be completed in August 2018, is also aimed at securing the international recognition of the quality certificates of Belarusian pharmaceutical companies.
