MIA doesn't want to delete Pahanyaila from the list of restricted to travel abroad

Ministry of Internal Affairs is in no hurry to exclude the human defender Harry Pahanyaila from the list of restricted to travel abroad, despite the fact, he appeared in the lists due to "technical failure".

We remind, Pahanyaila received from the Ministry of Justice the letter denying that no Court of Belarus decided to limit his right to leave the country. At the same time they mentioned some "technical failures", which existed during the period from 24/02/2012 to 03/10/2012 "in the transmission of electronic data to the Ministry of Internal Affairs". Referring to the letter from the Ministry of Justice, human rights defender appealed to the Department of Citizenship and Migration, with a statement to exclude him from "the list of restricted to travel abroad".

However, as the press service of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee informs, the Interior Ministry is in no hurry to correct "clerical errors".

"Currently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is working on the validation of all data collected in a database from the Ministry of Justice during the specified period of time. Upon completion of these works, measures to eliminate erroneous information from the data bank will be taken", said in the ministry.

The human rights activist, in response to the Interior Ministry sent a telegram demanding "my immediate expulsion from the MIA database with the subsequent actions of my rehabilitation, to punish those responsible for such a prolonged failure to take appropriate measures".
