On May 2 office of "Radio Racyja" in Minsk was searched. Police officers seized a laptop and a system unit of a desktop computer.
Police went round the apartments, located near the Victory Square, where rehearsals for the parade on May 9 are held.
A journalist who was on duty in the wording opened the door. After the police had seen the logo "Radio Racyja" they called for backup and searched the place confiscating equipment. Radio journalist was released without a report.
It should be noted that this is the second "raid" to the office of "Radio Racyja" in Minsk. Last time, in 2008, the office was smashed up, not only office equipment, but also a lot of documents were subjected to forfeiture. Six months later, computers were returned. However, in Belarus at that time a "political liberalization" was declared. Now the situation is reversed - the authorities are tightening nuts hard, including in the media sphere.
"Radio Racyja" broadcasts for Belarus from Bialystok. In Belarus, the journalists of the radio station do not have accreditation.
