Court will consider the appeal of Byalyatski on January 24

The appeal of Ales Byalyatski against the verdict of Pershamaiski District Court will be considered by a board of judges of higher court on January 24.

According to the Human Right Center Viasna, the case was referred to the Minsk City Court on Friday, January 6.

We remind, Dmitry Laevski, the lawyer of Byalyatski, has filed an appeal against the verdict in the Minsk City Court on November 29.

Piershamaiski District Court of Minsk on November 24 condemned the human rights activist to 4.5 years of medium security colony with confiscation of property. According to the court's decision, also Byalyatski must pay 721 million of damages to the State and 36 million of state tax.

In Belarus there is a collection of funds for the payment of Ales Byalyatski's fine. At the moment, more than 600 million rubles have been collected already.
