Nesvizh turns 800!
Nesvizh, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Belarus, celebrates its 800th anniversary on 12 August.

Nesvizh was first mentioned in historical chronicles in 1223. A legend has it, that a certain Yuri Nesvezhsky took part in a battle against the Mongol-Tatars on the Kalka River. The earliest documentary mention of the town dates back to 1446.


The heart of the city is Nesvizh Castle. It was founded by Prince Nicholas Christopher Radziwill, nicknamed Sirotka, in 1582-1583.
