More than 1,600 citizens of Ukraine entered Belarus over the past weekend, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee.

“From 6.00 on 8 April to 6.00 on 11 April some 1,643 citizens of Ukraine arrived in Belarus. Some 965 came through the Belarus-Ukraine border. Another 617 people came to Belarus transiting through Poland; 54 Ukrainians passed in transit through Lithuania, and 7 through Latvia,” the State Border Committee said.

Belarus continues to provide the necessary assistance to people arriving from the Ukrainian territory. According to the State Border Committee, since 3 April foreign nationals arriving in Belarus due to the social and political situation in Ukraine, including those transiting through other countries, do not need to present the negative result of a PCR test to enter the country. In addition, foreign nationals traveling from Ukraine to the place of permanent residence are allowed visa-free entry to Belarus until 15 April inclusively.

Belarusian checkpoints are operating in a routine mode.
