Belarus Will Become Visa-Free For 2021 IIHF World Championship. Learn NEW Conditions
In 2021, Belarus will introduce visa-free month-long travel program for tourists from 44 countries to cover 2021 IIHF World Championship participants and guests.

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has signed decree No.10 on preparing and hosting an ice hockey world championship on 10 January, the press service of the president reported.

2021 IIHF World Championship Minsk Belarus visa free

The decree allows participants, organizers and foreign nationals to enter and stay in Belarus without visas. While crossing a border, a visitor will only need to show a passport or any other valid document for travelling abroad.

An exception has been made for Latvia and Estonia – not only citizens of these countries, but also citizens of other states who permanently reside in Latvia and Estonia can visit Belarus visa-free.

Also during this period, tourists will be able to drive on local toll roads for free. Another positive moment is that emergency medical care services for foreign guests and participants will be provided free of charge as well.

Now a 30-day visa-free visa is valid for foreigners from 74 countries entering Belarus via Minsk National Airport. During the World Championship, a visa-free entry will be allowed by all means of transport, including cars. However, the rule will apply to citizens of fewer countries.

A visa-free regime will work for citizens of Australia, Austria, Albania, Andorra, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macedonia.

The citizens of Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, USA, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia, Japan are also welcome to Belarus with no visa needed.

Mind that a visa-free regime does not exempt tourists from the obligation to have medical insurance for the duration of their stay in Belarus and registration. The 2021 World Hockey Championship will be held in Minsk and Riga on 7-23 May 2021.
