Minsk Airport Tops World’s Most Punctual Airports For 2019
Minsk National Airport made it to the list of the world’s most punctual airports, according to Punctuality League for 2019 by aviation analysts OAG.

Always on time!

OAG ranked airports around the world with an annual minimum of 2.5 million departing seats. As with airlines, the higher the passenger traffic, the tougher the challenges, so OAG has broken down the rankings according to the size of the airport.

Minsk National Airport claimed the first place in the category of the best-performing small airports (2.5-5 million seats). According to OAG, 92.35% of flights arrived or departed on time.

‘On-time’ in this case is defined as departures and arrivals (for airports) and arrivals (for airlines) that take place strictly less than 15 minutes after schedule.

Two years ago Minsk Airport along with Belavia Belarusian Airlines were both awarded 8th place in the airport and airline punctuality ranking for 2017.

Recall that in 2018 Minsk Airport handled 4,536,618 passengers. This is a 10.3% increase over the same period in 2017.

Other on-time performers

Among the top 20 small airports, 84.0% of arriving and departing flights were operated within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival and departure times in 2018.

For the fourth year in a row, the most punctual mega airport (30 million+ seats) is Japan’s Tokyo Haneda (85.62%). The top major airport (20-30 million seats) is Moscow Sheremetyevo (87%).

The top large airport (10-20 million seats) is Japan’s Osaka Airport (88.22%), while Panama City is the top medium airport (5-10 million seats), with on-time performance of 91.11%.
