Boxing: First medal ever for Belarus woman at world championships

Viktoria Kebikava won bronze in Light Heavy (81kg) at the 2018 AIBA Women’s World Championships in New Delhi. In the quarterfinals, Viktoria eliminated Kazakhstan's Fariza Shaltay with strong performance which means she is the first Belarusian who could get a medal in the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships since 2002. IN the semifinal, she was defeated by Colombia's Jessica Caicedo, reports the press of Belarusian Boxing Federation.

277 athletes from 62 countries took part in the championships. The female boxers from 33 countries reached the quarterfinals.
