Aryna Sabalenka, the 20-year-old from Belarus, won her first WTA title in the 2018 Connecticut Open final in New Haven. On 25 August, she beat Carla Suarez Navarro in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. On Monday, Sabalenka will move to No. 20 in the WTA rankings. The same time last year she was outside Top 100.
She is the youngest woman to win the Connecticut Open since Caroline Wozniacki also won at age 20 in 2010.
