The small wooden chapel for the Belarusian community of north the British capital was designed by Spheron Architects to commemorate victims of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster. The chapel opened in December 2016.

The architect spent time in Belarus researching the design of traditional churches, including those abandoned following the nuclear explosion.
The chapel in London resembles traditional baroque churches of Belarus.

The wooden building of the Belarusian Memorial Chapel in London has been shortlisted for the New London Award 2017 in the category Culture & Community.
It is also one of the three buildings on the short list of the prestigious Ashden Prize, awarded as part of the New London Award.
