Over 10 000 WWII veterans remain in Belarus

As of April 1, 2017, there were nearly 10700 veterans of the Great Patriotic War in Belarus. The figure includes over 7000 people with disabilities. Over 3000 people received Soviet awards for self-sacrifying work in the rear during the war years. Over 17 000 Belarus residents are recognized as former prisoners of Nazi concentration camps, prisons and Ghettos, BELTA reports quoting the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
