New international checkpoint opens on Belarus-Lithuania border
Border checkpoint Losha-Šumskas is operating as international since 17 February, 2017, the State Border Committee of Belarus reports.

The checkpoint is open 24/7. According to the agreement between the two countries, only passenger cars and minibuses are allowed through it.

Lorries and pedestrians can not use the checkpoint.

In addition, travelers, crossing the border through Losha-Šumskas, can carry goods for personal use only.

Earlier Losha-Šumskas was open to borderland residents only. Border officials hope that its upgrade to the international status will help solve the problem of queues at Kamenny Log checkpoint, located some 20 km away from it.
