The Championship will take place in 2021.

The decision to file a joint bid with Latvia to host the World Hockey Championship was taken after the meeting of the Latvian delegation with Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

This was reported by the Vice-President of the NOC of Belarus Maksim Ryzhenkou.

Both countries have already held world championships in the past. There was a hockey forum in Latvia in 2006. The final match was held at the “Arena-Riga” (seats 10,200 spectators). Belarus hosted the World Cup in 2014, the final match took place in the “Minsk-Arena” (15,086).
