The acting head of the Baranavichy city traffic police department struck and killed a pedestrian on the evening of November 26.
The man knocked down the 36-year-old woman while he was driving in his car through the village of Darava in the Lyakhavichy district, Brest region, according to Yuliya Hancharova, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of Belarus.
The woman died at the scene. She left behind two children.
The man was off duty. He was in a state of alcohol intoxication.
