Belarus will need $50 million to organize and host the 2nd European Games in 2019, Aliaksandr Lukashenka said on November 14 when paying a visit to a chemical fiber factory in Mahilou. "It is a drop in the ocean for the country," he noted.
Lukashenka maintained that calculations were made and that "we would be in the black," BELTA reports. "Perhaps, we will not have to spend this amount: Europeans said they will help us," Lukashenka noted.
Belarus' National Olympic Committee Vice President Maksim Ryzhankou said earlier the country would need several tens of million dollars" to organize and host the European Gamea. According to him, it will be "the most economical" European Olympics.
