Belarusian Andrei Pranevich wins fencing competition at Paralympics

Another Belarusian has won a gold medal at the Paralympics in Rio. Andrei Pranevich has become the best fencer in a wheelchair. Pranevich passed the group stage successfully and managed to defeat Briton Dimitri Coutya (15:13) and Ukrainian Oleg Naumenko (15:8) in the play-off and Iraqui Ali Omar (15:14) in the final.

Swimmer Ihar Bokiy won three gold medals for the Belarusian team earlier (100m butterfly, 200m meley and 400m freestyle). He also won a bronze medal in the 100m brace.

Javelin thrower Alyaksandr Tryputs won a bronze medal. Belarus has six medals and is in the 16th position in the Paralympics rankings.
