Russian terrorist wanted by Interpol detained in Belarus

A Russian citizen wanted by Interpol for terrorism has been detained in Belarus, Russian FSB chief Alexander Bortnikov said at the meeting of the CIS Security Councils and special services.

"A Russian citizen wanted by Interpol for terrorism has been detained in a joint operation organized by the Russian FSB and Belarusian KGB on the territory of the Republic of Belarus,” BELTA quotes Bortnikov.

The man participated in military activities in Syria, the head of the Russian special services said. He had been planning to escape to Europe.
