Belarus steps up border controls after Brussels attacks

The State Border Control Committee has announced about stepped up security measures at the border following the attacks in Brussels.

"Measures are being taken to enhance to enhance border controls. We reckon this is an adequate response in this situaion," reports Interfax-West quoting State Border Control Committee spokesman Aliaksandr Tsishchanka.

He added that border guards will focus on those entering the country. Tsiareshchanka stressed that Belarusian border guards work in collaboration with their partners from the neighboring countries.

The latest death poll from Brussels has climbed at 34 dead: 20 in the metro, 14 in the airport. At least 65 were confirmed injured.
