Euroradio

The age of criminal responsibility for certain crimes has been reduced from 16 to 14 years in Belarus. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Valery Mitskevich. Innovation comes with the law on amendments and additions to the number of codes of the Republic of Belarus.

According to Mitskevich, at 14 teenagers will be held criminally responsible for the theft through the use of computer technology (Article 212 of the Criminal Code), for evasion of serving punishment by restraint of liberty (article 415 of the Criminal Code). It is noted that this step had to be taken due to the increase of such crimes committed by minors, BelTA reports.
