Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka is beginning a two-day visit to Baku.
Media in Azerbaijan quoted Lukashenka's press service as saying that the Belarusian president and his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, will discuss a wide range of issues related to bilateral ties.
Belarusian Ambassador Mikalay Patskevich told journalists in Baku that Lukashenka's visit will help advance the scope of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
Belarusian tractors, trucks, municipal machinery, optical equipment, lamps, and elevators are currently assembled in Azerbaijan.
Patskevich also said a decision was pending to establish a Belarusian-Azerbaijani joint venture to sell and promote Belarusian machinery.
Lukashenka is scheduled to take part in the opening of a new Belarusian Embassy in Baku.
