The relationship between China and Belarus has reached an unprecedentedly high level, President Xi Jinping said during delegation-level talks with Alyaksandr Lukashenka in Beijing on July 16, reported the Belarusian government’s news agency BelTA.
"We steadily develop our relations, taking one step after another," Mr. Xi said, according to BelTA. "At present our relations have reached an unprecedentedly high level. A new stage of rapid development of bilateral relations has begun."
Mr. Xi described the president of Belarus as a great friend of the Chinese people. "You have made a huge contribution to the development of Chinese-Belarusian relations," he said. "At this historic moment, when our relations are entering a qualitatively new phase of development, I am convinced that your visit will certainly provide an additional impetus to the further bilateral development of cooperation between our countries."
According to the Chinese leader, during his meeting with Mr. Lukashenka earlier in the day, they had a substantial discussion of various issued relating to bilateral relations and reached many important agreements.
