A Ukrainian politician accuses the leadership of his country of joint corruption schemes with the Belarusian leader.

The head of the Ukrainian national conservative party, a professor of the National Academy of Governance Aleg Soskin says that the country’s president Viktar Yanukovich is not going to defend Ukraine’s national interests and its national sovereignty. The politician gives the data of the trade turnover of his country with the Customs Union states as an argument.

The figures, voiced by the professor, show that the Ukraine buys much more goods from Belarus and Russia than sells there, a Ukrainian web-site Novanews.ua reports.

"We have a huge negative trade balance with Russia and Belarus, particularly in January-October 2012 the negative balance with the Russian Federation accounted for $8.3 billion, with Belarus - $2.5 billion", - Aleg Soskin says.

The politician sees the reason for such a misbalance in that the markets of the Customs Union’s countries are actually closed for Ukrainian goods. Ukraine in its turn does not apply a similar policy to the exports from Belarus and Russia because of corruption and personal interest of the top leadership of the country in financial kickbacks.

"Why does the Ukraine allow placing a network of thousands of Belarusian trading units, kiosks, shops with Belarusian goods at our territory? This is an open form of financial and economic expansion, an occupation on the part of the dictatorial regime of Lukashenka. These are an open smuggling and corruption schemes, through which foreign currency flows in billion out of the Ukraine. And Yanukovich’s 'family' is related to this mass robbery of the Ukrainian foreign currency market. Since such schemes are only possible when they are covered by the top leadership, which means only when a part of the incomes comes to the 'family’s' pocket", - the politician says.
