The leaders of Belarusian Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina and Nikolai Lozovik got visas to participate in the The Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting on Democratic Elections and Election Observation in Vienna.
The officials, who over 15 years are accused of falsifying the Belarusian elections at all levels, exactly for this reason were included in the list of banned entry in the European Union, will quietly go in one of the EU capitals to study how to conduct elections.
The Secretary of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Nikolai Lozovik confirmed to BelaPAN that he and the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina received an invitation to the conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) "Democratic Elections and Election Observation", which will be held on July 12-13 in Vienna.
Co-Chair of the initiative "For Fair Elections" Viktor Kornienko convinced, this is bad move by the OSCE, as Belarusian officials will make out of this invitations the only one conclusion: they can continue the elections frauds:
"This is lack of principles in international organizations and exaggerated expectations, that government officials can be corrected. These people are not independent in their decisions, they just follow orders. Ms. Yermoshina repeatedly and publicly stated: I am the person of the president.
The person should not be driven into a corner for life. However, for the lifting of sanctions imposed on certain officials, someone should make the corresponding actions, allowing to estimate that the lifting of sanctions can be made. Belarusian CEC has not done anything, so these sanctions could be lifted. So the only conclusion the officials will make out of this invitation: the elections frauds can be continued, and Europe will stay as it is", Kornienko said in an interview with UDF.BY.
